This webinar was run in collaboration with the Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS).
Scientific development has always been founded on the latest technology. Today, this means the explosion of digitalization of medical information. When it comes to drug development, the hurdle is access to the right patients, whether it be finding enough patients of different ethnicities, or finding enough patients with a specific confluence of phenotypic markers fitting a clinical trial protocol.
Today, the digitalization of medical records has unleashed the possibility of searching for patients across institutions, enabling trial researchers to work with patients on a global scale. Trial protocols can be tested and modified against live patient data, sites with large clusters of eligible patients can be identified, patients can be reidentified for trial recruitment at any site. In this webinar, we will outline the current trends, and offer real-world case studies.

Dace Dimza-Jones Dace Dimza-Jones helps to deliver high quality research studies across 14 NHS Trusts, 11 CCGs and more than 500 GP practises and pharmacies to make sure that people across Greater Manchester, East Cheshire and East Lancashire have opportunity to take part in innovative, groundbreaking and life changing research to improve health and wealth. Joanne Henry Joanne leads the Direct Delivery Team, which is a newly established team of research nurses, research practitioners and clinical trials administrators. The team’s aim is to increase research opportunities for underserved populations in areas such as primary care, care homes, prisons, schools, and other community settings. |

Louise Woodhead Louise is a paediatric nurse and has worked clinically in Paediatric Critical Care before moving into clinical research in 2011. She has worked on many paediatric research studies, commercial and academic and more recently has worked on adult and paediatric COVID research studies. |

Luis Magalhaes Luis Magalhaes has master’s degree in economics, administration and marketing. His expertise includes more than 15 years, managing and supporting healthcare projects in geographies like West Europe, Sub-Sahara, Latin America, and the Middle East region, involving both public and private sectors. He is working at Clinerion, a Swiss private initiative that develops intelligent solutions to support clinical research and clinical trial processes using real time patient data. |

Agnieszka Gackowska, MD Dr Gackowska graduated from the Medical University of Warsaw as the medical doctor and has nearly 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Since 2016, she’s been associated with Parexel, where she currently leads as the Global Head the Site Solutions Department consisted of the Site Alliance and the Site Intelligence teams. In addition to this role, in 2018-20, Dr Gackowska gained her experience by managing the Global Clinical Feasibility team responsible for the identification and selection of research sites for projects. Prior to joining Parexel, she worked for 7 years at IQVIA where she developed the Prime and Partner Sites program in the CEE & ME region from the scratch. In the years 1997-2009 she was associated with GSK and Novo Nordisk holding various managerial positions in marketing and sales departments. In addition to her permanent job, in the years 2007-2009, Dr Gackowska was the non-profit Managing Director of the Haemophilia Foundation in Poland. Throughout her career, she was involved in the development of educational programs on preventive medicine, modern treatments, and clinical trials, both for medical public (doctors and nurses) and patients. She was also a program creator and lecturer in postgraduate studies in the field of clinical trials conducted by the Medical University of Gdańsk, Medical University in Lublin and the Catholic University of John Paul II in Lublin. Currently, she actively cooperates with following societies: the SCRS, GCSA advisory board of IAOCR and GCP.pl |
