Report: "Good Clinical Practice and Clinical Research" Training Seminar

A report on our "Good Clinical Practice and Clinical Research" training seminar, run in collaboration with Istanbul Mehmet Akif Ersoy Cardiovascular Surgery Training Hospital (IMAEH), Istanbul University Medical Faculty Pharmacology Department and IQVIA Turkey, in Istanbul.



On Saturday, March 17th, 2018, Clinerion ran a training seminar on “Good Clinical Practice and Clinical Research” at the Experimental Research Center Conference Hall, IMAEH, Istanbul, in collaboration with Istanbul Mehmet Akif Ersoy Cardiovascular Surgery Training Hospital (IMAEH), Istanbul University Medical Faculty Pharmacology Department and IQVIA Turkey.

The seminar had the aim of improving the clinical research infrastructure in the hospital and had 80 participants, from hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and CROs.



Highlights of the evening included:

  • Opening and introduction of the speakers by the IMAEH chief of medicine Mehmet ERTÜRK, MD, who mentioned the importance of clinical research and the opportunities of IMAEH’s partnership with Clinerion
  • Yağız Uresin, MD, gave three presentations:
    • Why are clinical trials necessary?
    • Different types and methods of clinical research
    • Introduction to Good Clinical Practice
  • Muhtar Çokar presented “What is ethics? What is the clinical research ethic? Historical development of ethics and Helsinki declaration”
  • Dilek Temiz Özbek presented the “Legislation and legal in clinical research”


  • Burak Onan presented, “Informed Consent Form”
  • Selen Onan presented, “Duties and Responsibilities of Researchers”
  • Şeniz Sağol Tüysüz gave two presentations:
    • Duties and Responsibilities of Sponsors
    • Adverse event reporting
  • Arzu Koç presented “Clinical research materials and data management”

The training ended with an exam and certification for the successful participants. The certifications are approved by the Ministry of Health, and can therefore be used in appropriate applications. 68 participants successfully received certifications and one participant received a participation certificate.
